The economic downturn which Zimbabwe experienced for the past two decades, saw hundreds if not thousands of its citizens resorting to survival strategies whose implications, coupled with political conflicts in Mozambique, increases threats to the countrys Eastern border security management. This publication examines the challenges and efforts of border management in Zimbabwe`s Eastern frontier, specifically focusing on Forbes Border Post, and the most popular illegal crossing points Penhalonga and Nyamaropa. The study applied the Emmanuel Brunet-Jaillys theory of border security management.
