This book is an attempt by the First Year First Semester (13 Batch) Students from the Department of Public Administration, Comilla University, Bangladesh. As the requirement for the course PA-112, Introduction to Political Science we have conducted desk research on different topics on the subject. The students had to submit it as an assignment to fulfill the requirement of the course. At the end of the course, some of the students and we did some intensive work on it to bring this work in its present shape. This book has eight chapters and each chapter deals with the basic concepts of the subject matter. The first chapter deals with the study of Political Science and the second chapter deals with the basic concepts of it. In the third chapter, the readers will get an idea of a few western political thinkers. Chapters four and five deal with different forms and of government and detail ideas of constitution respectively. The branches of government are explained in chapter six and chapter seven brings the concepts of political party and pressure group in front of the reader. And in the last chapter (eight) authors discuss nationalism and identity with reference from Bangladesh.

Krishna Kumar Saha is an Assistant Professor of Public Administration at Comilla University, Bangladesh. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. research in the Department of Conflict and Development Studies, Gent University, Belgium under asst. prof. Bert Suykens's supervision. He is working on Electoral Violence in Bangladesh.
