Beschreibung
Although tannery industry has been recognized as a major industry of great economic importance internationally, yet there are certain issues related with its methods and processes which make this industry not very desirable at sustainability scale. With respect to environment pollution, chromium laden tannery sludge and effluent are the two major polluting components which are the matter of concern. Though there are several technologies are in the market but most of them have severe shortfalls of either not very effective in real ground conditions (bio-based technologies) or lead to generate secondary pollutants (chemical based technologies). Taking into account all the major shortfalls, this book gives you the first hand information of real ground issues and how it can be solved indigenously then and there. This will also help small scale industries to create their own customized technology in a very cost effective manner. Nevertheless, this book also gives new insight in the area of bio-extraction and bio-remediation technology development and can also be considered as a complete manual/ guidebook for research and development purposes in the area.
