Beschreibung

The series was founded in 1987, and actively solicits book-length manuscripts which treat aspects of romance languages and literatures. Originally established for works dealing with two or more romance literatures, the series has broadened its horizons and now includes studies on themes within a single literature or between different literatures, civilizations, art, music, film and social movements, as well as comparative linguistics.

Rezension

«Professor Toruño-Haensly provides an excellent introduction to five exemplary contemporary Hispanic writers of the United States and their literary work. Their art, which is intimately related to their life experiences, draws attention to major social and political issues of our day.» (Edward Waters Hood, professor at the North Arizona University, Flagstaff) «‘Crossing Cultures’ offers a fascinating journey along the U.S. border through the work and lives of five writers straddling that line in both directions. The book offers bio-bibliographic information on the authors, in-depth personal interviews, and a significant sample of their work. Bilingual edition makes it accessible to wide range of readers. The book shows the acumen and warmth of Prof. Rhina Toruño’s personality at her best. Highly recommended for students of border culture.» (Dr. Rima de Vallbona, Catedrática emérita, University of St. Thomas. Miembro de la Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Espanola (ANLE), Escritora latinoamericana)
