Pinacoteca Migrante / Migrant Art Gallery is an institution created by the PeruvianSpanish artist Sandra Gamarra Heshiki and hosted by the Spanish Pavilion at the 60th Biennale di Venezia, 2024. The project analyses the arts systemic structures through pictorial appropriations based on the artists research on heritage paintings and objects in public collections and museums, from the Empire to the Enlightenment in Spain. Gamarras revision shows the absence of decolonial narratives, exposing the bias with which colonizers and the oppressed have been represented in museums.
