Beschreibung

The purpose of the project is to develop an electronic device that allows the identification of dressings or surgical instruments on a patient's body before suturing an incision. Taking into account that some health entities have presented cases in which health professionals performing a surgical intervention have left forgotten surgical instruments and/or dressings on the patient's body, the need to design a device to detect textile and instrumental material in such procedures arises. The device developed helps to ensure the safety of the patient to avoid foreign bodies inside the patient after a surgical intervention. This project reduces economic losses to the hospital, mitigates the risk of lawsuits and guardianship by patients who may have had this type of inconvenience, and also provides reliability to medical staff and hospital entities that use this equipment.
