«Standards on Judicial Independence» contains the most recent and relevant
international Agreements, Declarations and Standards on judicial independence,
which shall be taken into account in daily judicial practice, yet also
whilst dealing with judiciary.
It is meant as a practical tool, which not only points out which conditions must
be met under binding legal rules and regulations, but also which standards
are recommended.
The collection addresses both legal practitioners and policy-makers, which
includes judges, court clerks, lawyers, members of parliament, government
members, members of international organizations, representatives of international
human rights organizations, university professors and other people
interested in the judiciary. The purpose of this collection of documents is to
facilitate access to relevant international documents on the standards of
judicial independence.
Generally, documents appear in their original English versions. If no official
English version of a document exists, both the original non-English version of
the document and an English translation are provided.
A table of contents provides easy access to all individual documents.
