Beschreibung
Extended is being published to accompany the exhibition of the same name at the ZKM Museum of Contemporary Art Karlsruhe, which presents extensive segments of the collection of the Landesbank Baden-Württemberg.
Focusing on contemporary German art since the early 1980s, the book reveals recent developments in the collection. Featured are not only outstanding individual acquisitions from the past few years, but especially major blocks of works by important contemporary artists that have been continuously extended or newly acquired during this period.
Artists of international renown, such as Franz Ackermann, Thomas Demand, Georg Herold, Martin Kippenberger, Michel Majerus, Albert Oehlen, Tobias Rehberger and Wolfgang Tillmans, are juxtaposed with more controversial figures including André Butzer, Josephine Meckseper, Julika Rudelius, Corinne Wasmuht and Ina Weber as significant focal points in the broad-based collection.
