The performance of organic solar cells strongly depends on the interpenetrating network of electron donor and electron acceptor phases. This work addresses the influences of process parameters on the morphology. Furthermore, spectroscopic and electrical studies of novel donor/acceptor material combinations are presented. Both charge carrier generation and transport in the solar cells are affected by the morphology.
