Euro-English: Assessing Variety Status is the first book on the controversial topic of whether Continental Europe is developing its own endonormative variety of English. Apart from giving a detailed overview over the debate so far and relevant theoretical background, the book also offers the first empirical results on the variety status of English in Europe. On the basis of her corpus- and questionnaire-derived data, the author argues against the assumption that Euro-English is a variety in its own right.
