Beschreibung

In this brochure the Committee for Requirement Standards of the Society of Nutrition Physiology presents new and detailed recommendations regarding requirements of energy, nutrients and active substances in sows, piglets and growing/fattening pigs. These recommendations are based on extensive scientific investigations and take into account variations depending on the respective intensity of rearing and growing/fattening as well as on different forms of pig husbandry. Energetic evaluation of feeds and declaration of energy requirements take place on the basis of a newly calculated metabolizable energy. For the first time recommendations are expressed for the supply of pre-caecally digestible amino acids as well as new recommendations for supply of major and trace elements and vitamins. Complementing to the recommendations for supply, basics and references regarding sustainable pig nutrition are documented. The booklet continues a series of similar publications of the Commission regarding dairy cows and heifers, beef cattle, horses, goats, turkeys, laying hens and broilers. Thus, actual and scientifically based feeding guidelines can now be provided to extension workers and farmers in pig production. / Englische Übersetzung von: Empfehlungen zur Energie- und Nährstoffversorung von Schweinen, 978-3-7690-0683-4.
