Its first part describes the surface of the brain stem and cerebellum as well as their location in the posterior cranial fossa. Furthermore it describes the structures of the brain stem and cerebellum which is followed by a brief survey of their functions, enabling the reader to obtain on overall view of the role both of nuclei and fasciculi. Finally the vascular network is analyzed in detail (superficial pial vessels and intranervous territories of deep vessels).
