Empowerment of women in rural Bangladesh entitled study was conducted with the major objectives to identify the nature of women empowerment in traditional and poverty stricken village society of Bangladesh. In the present research, empowerment means, right to take decision in several aspects namely purchasing activities, visit to natal home, receiving health care, to be pregnancy, participation in village arbitration, decision making inside and outside family etc. It has been measured also on the basis of education, credit, monthly income, ownership of land property etc. This study helps to readers to understand what the barriers were found against womens choice of their own life. As a traditional and agriculture-based rural society, how women are fighting in their daily lives. Empowerment, sometimes is considered as buzz word than the reality under the light of patriarchy. In the light of present analysis, it recommends the observed process has important implication both for theory and policy. It will also help policy-makers and programme administrators to readjust the program strategy and implementation procedures for empowering women in traditional society like South Asia.
