The volume Discourse Markers in Romance Languages. Crosslinguistic Approaches in Romance and Beyond includes the outputs of the 7th edition of the prestigious international conference Discourse Markers in Romance Languages (DISROM). The contributions in the volume focus on topics such as reformulative discourse markers, syntactic and sociolinguistic approaches to discourse markers, discourse markers and discourse genres, corpus-based approaches to discourse markers, grammaticalization and variation of discourse markers across languages, discourse markers and their relation to other semantic and pragmatic categories.

Cecilia-Mihaela Popescu is a Full Professor in Applied Romance Linguistics, General Linguistics, and Pragmatics at the University of Craiova, Romania. Cecilia-Mihaela Popescu is co-organizer of national and international conferences on historical linguistics and lexicology and has edited various collective volumes. From 2016 up to 2022, she was selected member in the Board of the International Society of Romance Linguistics (Société de Linguistique romane).
Oana-Adriana Dut,a? teaches Spanish linguistics and translation at the University of Craiova, Romania. Her research interests include contrastive linguistics, cognitive semantics and translation. She has performed extensive research on foreign language teaching in 6 international projects focusing on education and has co-edited 4 volumes.
