Exercises in Collocational English is primarily designed for students of English in their first two years at university, but it is also suitable forsupplementary use at schools (Leistungskurse). This practical workbook tries to satisfy students’ requirements for exercises in the area of vocabulary. Its aim is to increase vocabulary by presenting words in collocations, and it offers a wide range of challenging exercises on False Friends, Irregular Verbs, Phrasal Verbs and Nouns, Prepositions,Verb- Noun / Adjective–Noun Combinations, Idioms, Similes,Derivations and Word Formation, Intensifiers, Adjectives in –ic/-ical, Infinitive Gerund etc. The book is suitable both for classroom work with a teacher and for selfstudy at home, and its structure allows users to choose and study thosepoints they find most difficult.
